13th Annual National Juried Exhibition
and Residency at The New Arts Program Exhibition Space

Nicholas has been selected as the winner of the 13th Annual National Juried Exhibition and Residency at The New Arts Program Exhibition Space in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. He will have a solo exhibition of the cyanotype series, "Kyoto Calligraphy Lessons," in 2011. The award also includes a residency at NAP as well as an exhibition publication.

"Visual Dialogues" & Ohio Arts Council's Riffe Gallery
In 2009, Nicholas was selected by the Ohio Arts Council's Riffe Gallery to be the curator for "Visual Dialogues," an exhibition of drawings and works on paper by German and American artists. In addition to traveling to Dresden, Germany several times to in terview artists and select work for the exhibition, Nicholas wrote the exhibition essays.

The White Fund Faculty Research Grant
In 2008 and 2009, Nicholas received White Fund faculty research grants from Otterbein College to travel to R & F paints in Kingston, New York to do research on encaustic painting and printmaking processes.
